Subscription services

Governor Development Service - Single School Subscription

The Governor Development Subscription provides your governing body with unlimited bookings on our centre-based courses advertised in our training programme. This includes training specifically designed for academies in the areas of Financial Planning, Roles and Responsibilities, Health & Safety and workshop sessions for academy clerks and chairs. You will also receive a two hour in-house whole governing body training session customised to your individual needs. Any new governors at your academy will be entitled to attend a new governor evening induction course and the ten hour foundation course in School Governance including specific academy governor modules.

You will have access to a dedicated governor helpline providing advice and support on all governance matters. You will also benefit from a reduction from the standard charge on a range of our additional services including the headteacher recruitment package, the governance review process and further in-house training sessions.

Collaborative Subscription

Our Collaborative Subscription is aimed at two or more schools working in collaborative partnerships and enables governing bodies to plan and receive joint training sessions.

The subscription provides your governing body with unlimited bookings on our centre-based courses advertised in our training programme. The number of in-house training sessions included in the price varies depending on the number of schools collaborating.

Any new governors at your school will be entitled to attend a new governor evening induction course and the ten hour foundation course in School Governance.

Clerking Service - Standard

Our clerking service provides:

A full clerking service to ensure the effective operation of your governing body comprising six governing body meetings (to include committees up to a total of six meetings if there are fewer than six full governing body meetings);
All-inclusive maintenance of your governing body records including membership, governor attendance at meetings;
Unlimited access to governing body advice on membership matters and procedural matters, including conduct of meetings and the school governance regulations.

Clerking Service - Enhanced

Our clerking service provides:

We know how important an effective governing body is in providing strong leadership and raising standards in academies. We understand the different skills and abilities needed to be an academy governor and offer a competitive and responsive service. Our service is committed to developing the skills of governors to help ensure governing bodies meet their statutory and legal responsibilities as an academy trust as well as providing effective strategic support and challenge. We work in partnership with academy governing bodies to help your academy deliver the best possible education outcomes for your learners and the community.

Governors have a key role to play in making sure all pupils receive the highest standard of education possible and are able to achieve their full potential. An effective governing body is a source of enormous strength to an academy. Governors provide the headteacher with support and advice. They ask searching questions whilst respecting the headteacher’s position as professional leader of the academy and they share in formulating the academy’s aims and vision. Having the right information and skills is key to achieving these activities.

The Ofsted framework places great responsibility on the governing body to set the strategic vision and to rigorously monitor and evaluate school performance. Our service provides a range of training, development and support opportunities to equip your governing body with the right mix of skills and abilities to enable them to fulfil their academy governance responsibilities.
