About This Course

It is a requirement of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 that you must have a sufficient number of competent people to carry out evacuation duties.  The number of Fire Wardens required should be identified in your Fire Risk Assessment.

This training course gives delegates sufficient information on the roles and responsibilities of a Fire Warden (Fire Marshall), day-to-day fire prevention as well as what to do in the event of a fire or fire alarm sounding. 

The training includes:

  • Chemistry and spread of fire
  • Fire safety legislation
  • Fire prevention
  • Fire Protection and Safety
  • Emergency planning, evacuation requirements and procedures 
  • Selection and use of fire-fighting equipment
  • The roles and responsibilities of the Fire Warden

Aims & Objectives:

  • Raise awareness of fire safety
  • Consider human behaviour when incidents occur
  • Role and actions of a WCC fire warden 
  • Understand chemistry of fire, fire spread and evacuation 
  • Fighting fire, how and when to use equipment
  • Know what to do & keep safe on alarm activation
  • Hazard spotting
