Subscription services
Our services are available as separate elements to enable you to tailor the service to meet your needs. The Essential Core Service is the foundation of our offer and needs to be purchased to access other elements of service.
The Essential Core Service includes our telephone helpline giving you immediate advice and guidance, together with access to a competent Health and Safety Advisor on all aspects of Health and Safety, Fire Safety, and Security.
You will also have access to the WES website document library and our termly newsletter.
For Primary Schools, this service also provides annual membership of CLEAPSS (Consortium of Local Education Authorities for the Provision of School Science) for science, technology and art advice and resources.
Our Annual Audits help you to meet legislative requirements and best practice in relation to Health and Safety, Fire Safety or Security.
All audits are undertaken by a competent Health and Safety Advisor who conducts a walkabout inspection and checks documentation/procedures and produces an action plan report identifying areas for improvement.
We recommend you have one audit per year on a rolling 3 year programme and will advise you which one is due in 2015/16.
We will inspect your swimming/hydro pool once a year to ensure it is safe and fit for purpose.
We will inspect your PE equipment in Primary Halls once a year to ensure it is safe and fit for purpose.
A written report, indicating any remedial action required, will be left on the day of the inspection.
We will inspect your PE equipment in Sports Halls once a year to ensure it is safe and fit for purpose.
A written report, indicating any remedial action required, will be left on the day of the inspection.
We will inspect your PE equipment in Gymnasiums once a year to ensure it is safe and fit for purpose.
A written report, indicating any remedial action required, will be left on the day of the inspection.
We will inspect your PE equipment in Fitness Suites once a year to ensure it is safe and fit for purpose.
A written report, indicating any remedial action required, will be left on the day of the inspection.
We inspect your design & technology equipment once a year to ensure the equipment used in your school is safe and fit for purpose.
We will inspect your kiln(s) once a year to ensure it is safe and fit for purpose.
We will inspect your potter's wheel(s) once a year to ensure it is safe and fit for purpose.
We inspect your outdoor play equipment on a termly basis to ensure the equipment used in your school is safe and fit for purpose.
This provides monitoring of radioactive substances in secondary schools by the Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) within Safety and Premises, with at least one formal inspection and a report every 3 years, along with the provision of advice and guidance as necessary.
For schools who hold radioactive substances, this provides you with subscription to the Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) for advice and guidance.
The Membership entitles schools to unlimited access to specialist and technical advice for science, together with technology and art from CLEAPSS, the Schools Science Service.
