Course description

Course overview:

Work with a Microsoft Innovative Educator and Certified Trainer to explore the computing programme of study at KS1 and KS2.

This course will show how non-specialist can confidently teach computer programming using fun and engaging activities whilst maintaining a balance with other key curriculum areas.

The course helps you to understand the basis of programming which include the uses of variable, calculation, testing, loop structures, iteration assemblers, compilers, interpreters and practical programming using high and low level language.

Learning outcomes:

  • Learn how to implement and develop the computer programme of study

  • Adapt different schemes of work to suit your education establishment

  • Develop 'computational thinking'

  • Prepare to teach creative coding through games and apps

  • Make the most of Sway and other new exciting Online Apps

  • Understand the nature and purpose of programming language

  • Be able to code a solution to a complex problem

  • Develop a solid subject knowledge
