Course overview:

App creation for iPads and other mobile devices is an exciting area of content creation for pupils to engage in. It can also be considered to be a key element of the computing curriculum; indeed App creation features prominently in many schemes of work, such as ‘Switched On Computing’. This course will use an App creation tool (App Furnace) that allows users to design, create and run their own interactive mobile device Apps with ease. It requires no coding knowledge (although there is an opportunity to code if you want to!).

Learning outcomes:

• Develop, edit and revise Apps and test on a real device in seconds

• Design and make an App with a powerful and easy to use layout tool that runs in a browser

• Become familiar with administrative tools which allow moderation of content and management of pupil access

• Consider a range of App content ideas suitable for pupils

• Explore opportunities to integrate the App content with other interactive technologie
