Warwickshire Educational Psychologists have designed some workshops to help you support the children in your care.
You are invited to attend 4 workshops:
The workshops will include topics such as attachment, strategies to support attachment needs, learning in school, contact and changes to your family structure. We will endeavour to tailor the sessions according to the topics and areas which are most relevant and important to those attending, providing a more bespoke experience.
These workshops introduce ideas about attachment. You will learn about secure and insecure attachments in children and begin to think about how to support children with attachment difficulties.
You will be introduced to the P.A.C.E. model (Dan Hughes) that supports the development of more attuned interactions between adults and children and other models such as Emotion Coaching. The workshop will aim to provide practical strategies for you to try at home.
This workshop will help you know who to talk to if your child needs help in school. You will understand how schools and professionals can help children in school. You will learn about the new Code of Practice for children with Special Educational Needs and Disability that took effect on 1st September 2014.
These workshops will help you to think about the impact that a child who comes to live with you might have on family relationships within the home. You will think about the contact that the child may have with members of their birth family.
