Agriculture - Agricultural labour shortage: children employed on land
Description
Warwickshire Education Committee. Chairman's threat to resign over children and farm work issue. Elementary Education Committee discussed arrangements for handling male teachers going into military. School Attendance Committee concerned at number of children under 12 withdrawn from school for work and at low wage rates. Resolved that children under 12 only be used in cases of necessity and where no suitable children over 12 available.
